The name of the store and the ice cream itself gave us inspiration. Ice cream melts, and classical architecture is also melting. The originally heavy decorative ceiling seems to be melting, flowing down the soft curves of the metal walls.
This ice cream shop opened in Odessa only a few weeks after the outbreak of war, and was forced to close with its windows sealed. For a long time, we didn't know if it could reopen.

We have been searching for a simple solution - simple materials, a clear idea that can build and unify the entire indoor space. We are facing a very urgent timeline, just like most commercial spaces where rent is already being charged and we must open as soon as possible. Therefore, we hope to find a universal solution that runs through the overall design and minimize the number of construction partners to implement interior design.

Therefore, this continuous metal wave shaped indoor solution not only needs to address aesthetic issues, but also needs to shorten construction time. The name of the store and the ice cream itself gave us inspiration. Ice cream melts, and classical architecture is also melting. The originally heavy decorative ceiling seems to be melting, flowing down the soft curves of the metal walls.

This ice cream shop is located in an ancient historical building, which has had a strong impact on our design and technical decisions. In this context, design must pay attention to the context of the place. When we took over, the ceiling had already been decorated. We have decided to keep it and make it a part of the overall concept. The ceiling connects the indoor space, the building itself, and its history.

The windows in the building cannot be opened, and if the huge and exquisitely decorated ceiling is visually disrupted by exhaust pipes, it will lose its original elegance and delicacy. Therefore, we cleverly hide the air supply and exhaust ducts behind the golden waves on the wall.

The lighting fixtures in the project were also designed and manufactured by ourselves, as we could not find ready-made products that fit the overall design concept. Normally, the development of a lighting prototype takes about six months, but in this project, we completed the entire design and production in just a few months.
